“As a filmmaker I wanted to tell a story about women working together and expand upon the idea of sisterhood and sorority that was meaningful to me when I was making ‘Pitch Perfect,’” Elizabeth Banks has said of her “Charlie’s Angels” reboot. A new trailer for the action pic just dropped, and it sees the new Angels — Sabina (Kristen Stewart), Elena (Naomi Scott), and Jane (Ella Balinska) taking on bad guys and celebrating sisterhood.
“The best part isn’t taking down international criminals — it’s you guys,” Elena tells her fellow Angels.
Of course, we also see the Angels in action, fleeing explosions, jumping out of planes, and kicking ass. We also get more information about how the Angels operate thanks to their handler, Bosley (Banks). “I run a covert group of exceptional women,” she explains. “We work outside the rules in secret, together. You may not know we exist, but we are always watching.”
Banks made her feature directorial debut with box office smash “Pitch Perfect 2.” The 2015 a cappella comedy took in over $287 million worldwide on a budget of $29 million.
“Charlie’s Angels” arrives in theaters November 15. Banks co-wrote the script.
