Trailer Watch: Elsa and Anna Travel Beyond Arendelle in “Frozen 2”

"Frozen 2"

A newly released TV spot for “Frozen” sees Olaf (Josh Gad) wondering if being put into mortal danger is “going to be a regular thing.” Based on the footage, the answer is yes: led by Elsa (Idina Menzel), he, Anna (Kristen Bell), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), and Sven embark on a high-stakes journey to the north in search of the truth about the past. Elsa needs answers about why she was born with magical powers, and to find them, she must venture into the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond Arendelle.

Elsa originally intends to make this a solo trip, but Anna insists on joining her. “Excuse me, I climbed the North Mountain, survived a frozen heart, and saved you from my ex-boyfriend,” she reminds her sister. “So promise me we do this together, OK?”

Penned by Allison Schroeder (“Hidden Figures”), “Frozen 2” hits theaters November 22. Original “Frozen” co-director Jennifer Lee is also co-directing the sequel.

Released in 2013, “Frozen” took in over $1.27 billion at the worldwide box office, making it one of the biggest hits of all time.
