Trailer Watch: Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba Are “L.A.’s Finest” in “Bad Boys” Spinoff

"L.A.'s Finest"

“L.A.’s Finest” sees Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba playing cops who have done some “crazy shit” in their day. A new trailer for the “Bad Boys” spinoff shows Syd (Union) confessing to breaking the windows of her ex’s Jeep, and Nancy (Alba) fessing up to stabbing someone with scissors. But now it’s their job to serve and protect, and with bodies “dropping like it’s the end of days,” the new partners have their work cut out for them.

There’s a common thread in the crime wave: one particular criminal that is said to be capable of everything and anything. If Syd and Nancy are going to take him down, they’re going to need to work together.

“We have to trust each other,” Nancy tells Syd.

According to Deadline, “the first three installments in the 13-episode series will be exclusively available to Spectrum video subscribers free On Demand (and without ads) on May 13, after which new episodes will release every Monday until the finale.”

Union and Alba are both exec producers on “L.A.’s Finest.” “Being Mary Jane,” “Breaking In,” and “Bring It On” are among the former’s credits. The latter’s include “Into the Blue,” “Sin City,” and “Dark Angel.”

Check out the action-packed trailer for “L.A.’s Finest” below. Union originated the role of Syd in 2003’s “Bad Boys II.”
