Trailer Watch: Gabrielle Union Is a Heroic Mom on a Mission in “Breaking In”

“Breaking In”

Gabrielle Union is a force to be reckoned with in a new trailer for “Breaking In.” The thriller sees the “Being Mary Jane” actress heading to her recently diseased father’s secluded house alongside her two kids. The trio are shocked to discover the estate’s super high-tech security system, which leaves the mom, Shaun, wondering what exactly her father was trying to hide.

Shaun doesn’t have much time to solve the mystery before burglars appear and take her children hostage while she’s outside of the house. “I want you to listen. You are a woman alone at the mercy of strangers,” they threaten. But Shaun doesn’t let the criminals intimidate her — she’s too busy figuring out how to get back into the house to save her kids. “You have no clue what I’m capable of,” she tells the robbers. The footage from the trailer shows just how hardcore she is.

“Breaking In” opens on Mother’s Day, May 13. Union produced the pic. She’s set to reprise her role as Special Agent Syd Burnett from “Bad Boys II” in NBC’s upcoming spinoff of the film.
