Trailer Watch: Hannah Remains Highly Opinionated in “Girls’” Final Season

“Girls”

“I don’t give a shit about anything, yet I simultaneously have opinions about everything,” Hannah (Lena Dunham) tells her potential employer in a newly released trailer for “Girls’” sixth and final season. The two are discussing the possibility of Hannah writing an article on surfing, a subject Hannah does indeed have plenty of opinions about. “I do feel like I need to warn you that I hate and am maybe allergic to sand,” she says. “Also, super against sun, super against sun screen, not into drinking water, and not into watching people have fun.” Hannah is back in all of her oversharing glory.

The spot features Hannah speaking her mind about subjects as varied as Marnie’s (Alison Williams) tangled love life, her own sense of directionless (“Why can’t someone just tell me exactly what to do in a way that makes it seem like it’s my idea?”), and the reasons she wants to be a writer.

Dunham is an eight-time Emmy nominee for her work on “Girls,” including nods for acting, writing, and directing. The show’s creator won a Golden Globe in 2013 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series — Musical of Comedy.

“Girls” returns to HBO February 12. Check out the trailer to watch Jessa (Jemima Kirke) continue to deal with the fallout of dating Hannah’s ex, Adam (Adam Driver), and to see what Marnie, Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet), Elijah (Andrew Rannells), and Ray (Alexander Karpovsky) are up to.
