After a six-year hiatus, “Inside Amy Schumer” is finally coming back. Before “Trainwreck,” comedy specials including “Growing,” “The Leather Special,” and “Life & Beth,” Schumer rose to fame with the Emmy- and Peabody-winning variety series, now entering its fifth season. A newly released trailer introduces us to some of the characters Schumer will be portraying this time around.
“Whatever kind of experience you’re looking for, you can find it here,” Schumer announces. She’ll be playing a mother, an activist who insists that “5G is a Chinese conspiracy,” and a child-free astronaut who is “in violation of space law,” among many other roles.
“Life & Beth,” Schumer’s scripted Hulu series, was renewed for a second season earlier this year. The dark comedy tells the story of a woman who leaves Manhattan and returns home to Long Island following the death of her mother. She has a cameo in “Bros,” the first gay rom-com released by a major studio. The pic is in theaters now.
Set to launch October 20 on Paramount+, Season 5 of “Inside Amy Schumer” includes appearances by Ellie Kemper (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”), Olivia Munn (“Violet” ), and Bridget Everett (“Somebody Somewhere”).
