“Ever since you and I became you and me, we’ve done a lot of crazy shit, but we’ve always done it together,” says Jane Fonda in a new trailer for “Grace and Frankie’s” sixth season. The penultimate season of the Netflix comedy sees Grace (Fonda) making a life with her new husband, much to Frankie’s (Lily Tomlin) chagrin. Convinced that “everything is going to change” and terrified that her BFF has made “a terrible mistake,” Frankie is told that she’s having a “breakdown.”
Meanwhile, Grace is also struggling to adapt. “It’s been a long time since I’ve had to dazzle on the arm of a husband,” she admits. Grace is dealing with health issues, and finding it increasingly difficult to get around. But as Frankie says, the pair “take an obstacle and make it an opportunity,” so they get to work on a new business venture after Grace has an incident getting up off of her toilet.
Fonda won Oscars for “Coming Home” and “Klute.” Her more recent credits include “Book Club” and “Our Souls at Night.”
Tomlin received an Oscar nod for “Nashville.” “The Magic School Bus Rides Again” and “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” are among her recent credits.
“Grace and Frankie” has received 11 Emmy nominations. Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris created the sitcom, which has already been renewed for a seventh and final season, making it Netflix’s longest-running original series. Season 6 drops on Netflix January 18.
