A trailer has arrived for Patricia Riggen’s upcoming Christian drama “Miracles from Heaven,” starring Jennifer Garner.
Despite being told by doctors that there was no cure for her young daughter Annabel’s terminal medical condition, Christy Beam refused to give up hope. Beam recounted the countless hospital visits and sleepless nights spent praying for Annabel in her memoir, “Miracles from Heaven: A Little Girl, Her Journey to Heaven, and Her Amazing Story of Healing.”
Now Riggen and Garner are taking the Beam family’s story to the big screen.
“We need a solution — we need it now,” says a desperate Christy (Garner) in the trailer. Her husband (Martin Henderson, “Everest”) insists that they’ll find one by “not losing [their] faith.”
To say that Annabell (Kylie Rogers, “Fathers and Daughters”) is cured in an unexpected fashion is to put it mildly. She falls 30-feet from a tree, landing on her head. Not only does she survive the fall, she’s healed by it. The spot seems to suggest that the “impossible” outcome of the fall is in fact a miracle.
“I stayed awake all night after reading ‘Miracles from Heaven,’” Garner told People. “There was something about this family, this mother and daughter and this telling of the story that I felt I just had to be a part of.”
“Miracles from Heaven” opens March 18, 2016. Queen Latifah costars.
Riggen’s Chilean miner drama “The 33” hits theaters November 13.
