Trailer Watch: Kelly Reichardt’s Night Moves

A French trailer has been released for Kelly Reichardt’s fifth feature, the eco-thriller Night Moves. Dakota Fanning, Jesse Eisenberg, and Peter Sarsgaard star as a trio of extreme environmentalists who plan to blow up a dam.

The thriller genre makes it a departure for Reichardt (Meek’s Cutoff, Wendy and Lucy), but the trailer implies that the film will be as much about the paranoia and distrust between the central trio as it is about the action-oriented plot. “Let the revolution begin for the future, for the people, and for the planet,” declares Fanning’s newbie character — a statement that is as cheerfully optimistic as it is hubristically arrogant.

Night Moves will open on May 30.
