Trailer Watch: Kristen Stewart Heads to Guantanamo in Camp X-Ray

Since the end of Twilight, Kristen Stewart has returned to her indie roots for the next chapter of her career. That seems like a good move for her, since her best notices were always in smaller-budget fare like The Runaways and Adventureland, and surely she has the bank account to be choosy with her projects.

Stewart has received rave notices, in fact, for her co-starring turn opposite no less than Juliette Binoche in the psychosexual drama Clouds of Sils Maria. She attempts something altogether different in Camp X-Ray, in which she stars as a young army soldier stationed in Guantanamo Bay who forges an unexpectedly complex relationship with one of the prisoners and feels trapped herself as a woman in an aggressive, male-dominated environment.

Camp X-Ray opens October 17.
