Trailer Watch: Lucy Lawless Solves Mysteries in “My Life Is Murder”

"My Life is Murder"

Best known for her role as a warrior princess in “Xena,” Lucy Lawless continues to kick ass in “My Life Is Murder.” A trailer just dropped for the Australian mystery series, which is set to premiere on Acorn TV early next month.

“My Life Is Murder” sees Lawless playing Alexa, a private investigator and ex-homicide detective living in Melbourne. Asked if she’s “crazy” by some and told she’s “still the best investigator” in town by others, Alexa seems to make enemies and fans everywhere she goes. She’s retired from the force but unable to resist opportunities to solve crime — or deliver zingers.

Working alongside Alexa is Madison (Ebony Vagulans, “The Heart Guy”) an ambitious data-analyst who can’t help but admit that her mentor is “amazing.”

“Parks and Recreation,” “Battlestar Galactica,” and “Ash vs Evil Dead” are among Lawless’ previous credits.

“My Life Is Murder” begins streaming on Acorn TV August 5.
