The so-called “Monterey Five” have a secret — and it’s eroding every single one of them. A new trailer has dropped for Season 2 of HBO’s “Big Little Lies,” and sees Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), Jane (Shailene Woodley), Renata (Laura Dern), and Bonnie (Zoë Kravitz) dealing with fallout from the events of the PTA party that culminated in Bonnie pushing Perry (Alexander Skarsgård) to his death.

“I still feel responsible for the accident,” Celeste tells her therapist. Perry was physically and emotionally abusive, but her therapist seems to suspect Celeste still sees herself as a “monster” for any involvement she had in his “accident.” Unconvinced that it was an accident, Perry’s mother, Mary Louise (Meryl Streep), is sure her son didn’t slip — she knows that Celeste was planning to leave Perry and had learned of his infidelity seconds before his death.

“Big Little Lies” returns June 9. Andrea Arnold directed every episode of the Emmy winner this season.
