Trailer Watch: Michelle Buteau Welcomes Viewers to “Buteaupia” in Her Netflix Standup Special

"Michelle Buteau: Welcome To Buteaupia": Marcus Price/Netflix

A trailer has dropped for Michelle Buteau’s first hour-long comedy special. “Michelle Buteau: Welcome to Buteaupia” sees the comic and actress telling jokes about her “teeny tiny,” “skinny white girl” ankles, asking strangers to hold her baby twins, and her husband’s reaction to her Jersey accent.

According to Netflix’s synopsis of “Welcome to Buteaupia,” the special also “delves into parenthood, cultural differences, and the overlooked value of short men.”

“I realized way too late in life that I am an achievable BeyoncĂ© for government workers,” Buteau says in the spot. “I don’t know about you, but I can make a government worker work a holiday. That’s power, bitch! They’re looking at me like they want me to motorboat the PTSD off their face and I’ll do it because I’m a patriot, thank you very much!”

“Always Be My Maybe,” “The First Wives Club,” and “Tales of the City” are among Buteau’s acting credits.

“Michelle Buteau: Welcome to Buteaupia” launches on Netflix September 29. Page Hurwitz directed the special and produced it alongside Wanda Sykes.
