A teenage girl vows to “master sexual excellence” in a new trailer for “Sex Appeal.” The Hulu comedy follows Avery (Mika Abdalla, “Project Mc²”), an overachieving high school student who doesn’t do things she isn’t good at. When her long-distance boyfriend suggests they take the next step in their relationship and have sex for the first time, Avery hatches an elaborate plan to prepare for their rendezvous.
In addition to creating an app to collect data, Avery interviews her peers about how to be a “dick-sucking artist” and enlists a childhood friend as a “practice partner.” “You kids are overly worried about getting good at the sex stuff. It’s the relationship that takes practice,” she’s warned.
“Sex Appeal” launches on Hulu January 14. The pic marks Talia Osteen’s narrative feature debut. Margaret Cho co-stars.
