Trailer Watch: Nicole Maines Sinks Her Teeth into LA in “Bit”

"Bit"

“You know those teen vampire movies that feel like the horny soap opera fever dreams of an eighth grade diary? Here’s how mine began,” says Nicole Maines in a new trailer for “Bit.” The pic sees the “Supergirl” actress playing Laurel, a recent high school graduate and trans woman who leaves small-town Oregon behind to start a new life in LA. She makes fast friends with a group of women who welcome her with open arms — then turn her into a vampire.

“You’ve shoveled a lot in your life, haven’t you?” asks Duke (Diana Hopper, “Goliath”), who seems to be the leader of the clique. “How would you like to hold the keys to the kingdom for a change?”

After being welcomed to the “Bite Club,” Laurel is told that Duke and her crew kill people indiscriminately and abide by one rule: never turn a man into a vampire. “Men can’t handle power,” Duke explains.

“Bit” will be released digitally April 24.
