Trailer Watch: Rosario Dawson Investigates Her Sister’s Murder in “Briarpatch”

"Briarpatch"

A trailer has dropped for “Briarpatch.” The upcoming USA Network series sees Rosario Dawson playing a political fixer who returns to her hometown after a 12-year absence. She’s back for one reason and one reason only: to find out what happened to her sister, a cop who was murdered.

One theory Allegra (Dawson) hears is that her sis was killed by “someone with money” because “she found out something that could stop them from being rich anymore.” But she’s warned not to “believe a single word” from anyone.

“Sin City,” “Rent,” and “Kids” are among Dawson’s credits. Her more recent projects include “Jane the Virgin,” “Luke Cage,” and “Unforgettable.”

“Briarpatch” will screen at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and airs on USA Network in 2020. Ana Lily Amirpour (“A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night”) directed the pilot.
