“You don’t know what I’m capable of,” says Rose Byrne in a new trailer for “Physical.” Set in ’80s San Diego, the Apple TV+ series tells the story of Sheila Rubin (Byrne), a stay-at-home mom who is tired of being underestimated and trusting her “dingdong” husband with her fate.
Sheila reclaims her own identity after participating in a life-changing aerobics class. “After just one class you can feel it happening — you becoming you again,” she explains. Newly empowered and eager to make her own mark, Sheila decides to start teaching aerobics and eventually launches a fitness empire.
Byrne received two Emmy nods for her supporting role as Ellen Parsons in “Damages,” an FX/Audience Network legal thriller that premiered in 2007 and concluded in 2012. The “Bridesmaids” star’s more recent credits include “Mrs. America” and “Like a Boss.”
“Physical” premieres on Apple TV+ June 18. Annie Weisman (“Desperate Housewives”) serves as showrunner.
