Rose Byrne is “tired of playing defense” in “Physical.” A new trailer for Season 2 of Annie Weisman’s Apple TV+ dark comedy sees Sheila (Byrne) determined to grow her business. Urged to “stick to the plan” and simply promote her fitness video, Sheila is more interested in expanding into her own lifestyle brand. Her “rocket ship is about to take off” — but not everyone’s rooting for her.
Sheila’s husband, Danny (Rory Scovel), is eager to remind her that he owns half of her business when he doesn’t approve of her plans, and Bunny (Della Saba), the fitness instructor who first sparked Sheila’s love of aerobics, is fixated on exposing her for stealing her routine.
“Change is coming — growth, but so is loss, pain, regret,” we’re told.
Byrne’s recent credits include “Mrs. America” and “Like a Boss.”
“Physical” returns June 3. Season 1 consisted of 10 episodes, and women directed nine of them: Liza Johnson (“Dead To Me”) and Stephanie Laing (“Veep”) stepped behind the camera.
