Trailer Watch: Rowan Blanchard Falls for Sisters in Hulu Rom-Com “Crush”

"Crush"

Rowan Blanchard is set to learn a few more lessons inside and outside of the classroom. The “Girl Meets World” alumna, who now stars in “Snowpiercer,” toplines “Crush,” a Hulu rom-com about an aspiring young artist who finds herself in a love triangle. From director Sammi Cohen, the feature follows Paige, a highschooler who hopes to attend California Institute of the Arts. A trailer for the pic sees Paige ready to take control of her life by pursuing Gabby (Isabella Ferreira, “Love, Victor”), the girl of her dreams, and using the experience as the basis of her application to CalArts. “Name one time you’ve ever made a move,” her skeptical BFF demands.

Paige joins the track team to get closer to Gabby, but her time out on the field brings her closer to her crush’s sister, AJ (Auli’i Cravalho, “Moana”). “Now I have to become an athlete, make the perfect thing for CalArts, and pick the right girl,” she says.

“Crush” marks Cohen’s feature directorial debut. Kirsten King and Casey Rackham penned its script. You can catch “Crush” on Hulu April 29.
