Trailer Watch: Sharon and Rob Are Hilarious Parents in ‘Catastrophe’ Season 2

“What’s going on with you crazy bitches?” This is how Sharon (Sharon Horgan, “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret”) greets a mommy group at the playground in a preview for Season 2 of “Catastrophe.” Needless to say the joke doesn’t go over well with her audience. We’re certainly amused, though.

Sharon and Rob (Rob Delaney, “Burning Love”) are dealing with the aftermath of their unplanned pregnancy last season, but they haven’t let parenthood get in the way of addressing important, non-baby-related matters. Do people still 69? Is offering a sexual raincheck a form of abuse?

The spot also sees the couple discussing sexual chemistry and infidelity — likely due to Rob’s flirtatious coworker.

In addition to starring in the series, Horgan and Delaney wrote every episode of the first and second season.

Our TV columnist Sara Stewart praised the “groundbreaking” first season of “Catastrophe.” She observed that “the collaboration between these two comics is a prime example of the way in which feminist writers and performers — of both genders — are changing the language of the romantic comedy for the better, and smarter, AND funnier.”

Season 2 debuts on Amazon Prime April 8. Carrie Fisher and Ashley Jensen (“Ugly Betty”) co-star.
