Just as she announces that it’s “time to break that glass ceiling,” Taraji P. Henson finds herself stuck beneath the impenetrable-seeming wall blocking women in the workplace. A trailer has landed for “What Women Want” reboot “What Men Want,” and sees the Oscar nominee being turned down for a promotion at her job on account of her gender. Told she “doesn’t connect well with men” and reminded to “stay in [her] lane,” the sports agent can’t help but feel “so sick of this boys’ club.”
Ali finds herself visiting a psychic, who offers her a strange concoction that she claims includes jasmine, peyote, and crack. The next day she wakes up with the ability to read men’s thoughts.
While she’s initially pained — and terrified — by the realization that her mind is filled with unwanted access into thoughts about farts and uncensored opinions of her, Ali realizes that her newfound access into men’s minds can work to her advantage at her job. “This is not a curse. It’s a gift,” she says.
Check out the trailer to see how she makes use of the gift.
