Tatiana Maslany is bidding farewell to the Clone Club and joining the Marvel empire. The Emmy-winning “Orphan Black” alumna toplines “She Hulk: Attorney at Law.” “Whose going to protect the world if not for people like you?” she’s asked in a new trailer for the Disney+ series.
The cousin of Bruce Banner, Jennifer Walters — aka She-Hulk — is a 30-something lawyer who has just been asked to head her firm’s “superhuman law division.” Jennifer just wants to be “normal” and “anonymous,” but she happens to be a 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk. Warned that her transformations are “triggered by anger and fear,” she responds, “Those are like the baseline of any woman just existing.”
Whether Jennifer likes it or not, she’s “a story now,” and she’ll need to learn how to harness her power.
“She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” hits Disney+ August 17. Jennifer Gao (“Silicon Valley”) serves as head writer, and Kat Coiro (“Dead to Me”) and Anu Valia (“Never Have I Ever”) direct. The show’s supporting cast includes Ginger Gonzaga (“Kidding”), Jameela Jamil (“The Good Place”), and RenĂ©e Elise Goldsberry (“Girls5eva”).
