Trailer Watch: “The Affair” Season 3 Kicks Off Three Years After Noah’s Confession

“The Affair”

ANSFW trailer has been released for Season 3 of “The Affair,” and the spot confirms that Showtime’s critically acclaimed, multi-perspective drama will continue to deliver the thrills, sex scenes, and relationship drama that the series has become known for.

The third chapter of the story kicks off three years after the events of Season 2, which concluded with Noah (Dominic West) confessing to a crime he didn’t commit.

According to Showtime’s synopsis of the season premiere, titled “Bad Person,” Noah is “haunted by recent hardship” and “struggles to navigate the challenges of his old life while attempting to adapt to a new one. A new love interest isn’t enough to overcome a sense of dread. Someone is watching him.”

The footage from the trailer suggests that the tension and drama between Noah, Helen (Maura Tierney), Alison (Ruth Wilson), and Cole (Joshua Jackson) is far from over. We see Noah in prison demanding that Helen “leave [him] alone” — something their kids seem to want, too. “Dad is a bad person. He treated you like shit,” their daughter tells Helen.

We also get a peek at Cole and Alison’s fraught reunion. “I don’t want to make anything more difficult for you,” Alison says. But it’s clear that her involvement in Cole’s life is taking a toll on his relationship with his new partner.

Both Wilson and Tierney have won Golden Globes for their performances in the soapy series.

Season 3 of “The Affair” kicks off on Showtime November 20. The series was created by Sarah Treem and Hagai Levi. Watch the trailer to check out all of the threats, ultimatums, and shouting matches.
