Trailer Watch: The Unluckiest Person in the World Goes on an Epic Adventure in Peggy Holmes’ “Luck”

"Luck"

Anything that can go wrong does go wrong for Sam Greenfield (Eva Noblezada), the unluckiest person in the world. Her days consist of mishap after mishap. All of that changes when she finds a lucky penny — but then she proceeds to lose it. From director Peggy Holmes and screenwriter Kiel Murray, “Luck” follows Sam as she searches for her missing penny, a journey that sees her jumping through a mystical portal after she sees a talking cat (Simon Pegg) do the same.

A trailer for the animated film shows where Sam and the cat end up: the Land of Luck, where humans are banned. “The tiniest amount of bad luck can shut down our entire operation,” she’s warned by a unicorn (Jane Fonda). Sam and the magical creatures in the Land of Luck need to figure out how to change her luck, but there’s also a risk of spreading it.

Holmes’ other credits include “The Pirate Fairy” and “Secret of the Wings.”

“Luck” starts streaming on Apple TV+ August 5.
