We’re about to learn a whole lot more about the Twilight of Adam. “The Wilds” is back, and a new trailer for the Prime Video drama’s second season kicks off where that dramatic cliffhanger left off. Fatin (Sophia Ali), Dot (Shannon Berr), Martha (Jenna Clause), and the rest of the girls aren’t the only ones being studied by Gretchen (Rachel Griffiths) and her team of researchers. It turns out that a male group of castaways is also being monitored.
“I’ve got a great story for you,” the spot begins. “Once upon a time, two plane crashes were staged. All of the victims were dosed and stranded on two islands: eight on one, eight on the other — though that number was subject to change.”
We’re introduced to some of the teenage boys being observed. “We all started wanting to be things,” we’re told. “We wanted be men, but the truth is some of us were becoming monsters.” We’re also reunited with the girls, whose relationship dynamics continue to evolve. “Have you noticed any new vibes between some of the people here?” Martha asks. She could be referring to the romance that’s blossoming between Shelby (Mia Healey) and Toni (Erana James), or tensions simmering amongst other girls.
Created by Sarah Streicher (“Daredevil”), “The Wilds” returns to Prime Video May 6.
