A grieving mother attempts to get revenge on the dealer who killed her son in a drive-by shooting in the female-led vigilante thriller “Lila and Eve.”

Starring Viola Davis as a woman who sees no other road to justice and Jennifer Lopez as her trigger-happy enabler, the film finds the two women eventually hunted by the criminals they wage a low-grade war against and the detective who failed to investigate the original drive-by shooting properly.

Variety praised the Sundance film as a “cleverly conceived, earnestly executed throwback to late-’80s female-driven thrillers” that boasts “an awards-caliber performance from Viola Davis and flavorful support from Jennifer Lopez.”

“Lila And Eve” will open in theaters and on demand July 17th.
