Trailer Watch – Wadjda – Directed by Haifaa Al-Mansour

nullWe’ve written about Haifaa Al-Mansour’s Wadjda before and finally the first trailer for the film has been released. Al-Mansour is the first woman to direct and write a film in Saudi Arabia.

Wadjda is the story of a young Saudi girl who desperately wants a bicycle and is willing to defy her society’s rigid standards to go about getting one.

It is a very special film.

Wadjda opens in the U.K. on July 19th. It is set to open in the U.S. later this year.
