Hot off her Best Screenplay win at Tribeca for “Women Who Kill” comes the news that writer-director-actress Ingrid Jungermann is headed to the small screen. She’ll executive produce and write an adaptation of her WGA- nominated web series “F to 7th” for Showtime. The half-hour comedy is currently in development at the premium cable network.
“F to 7th” centers on pre-middle age lesbians struggling to cope with evolving gender roles and sexual mores. The two season web series featured a star-studded cast that included Amy Sedaris (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”), Gaby Hoffman (“Transparent”), and Janeane Garofalo (“Wet Hot American Summer”). Jungermann also appeared in the series, though she is not contracted to act in this new TV version.
Among the other EPs on the projects are “Addicted to Fresno” collaborators Jamie Babbit (“Girls,” “But I’m A Cheerleader”) and Karey Dornetto (“Portlandia”).
“Women Who Kill,” Jungermann’s feature debut, follows a love triangle with an unlikely trio — two true crime podcasters and a potential murderer.
Jungermann co-created “The Slope,” another popular web series. She worked on the project alongside “Appropriate Behavior” writer-director Desiree Akhavan. Jungermann told Women and Hollywood, “I’ve learned so much from my collaborators and all of them — whether it’s been a good experience or bad — have made me a better filmmaker.”
