TV Trailer Watch: American Horror Story: Coven — Starring Jessica Lange

Last season’s American Horror Story: Asylum was a crazy mish-mash of serial killers, alien abductions and Nazi sympathizers all set in a mental institution. It also featured some of the best female performances on television last year from Jessica Lange, Lily Rabe and Sarah Paulson.

The next chapter in the horror anthology, American Horror Story: Coven, boasts an insanely talented female cast from American Horror Story veterans like Lange, Paulson and Rabe to new additions who also happen to be some of the great actresses working today like Kathy Bates, Patti LuPone and Angela Bassett.

Lange will play Fiona, a powerful witch, who oversees a witch academy where young witches (Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Emma Roberts) go to hone their skills and learn how to protect themselves. These young witches have been the targets of mysterious attacks and their safety is priority since many of the bloodlines are facing extinction. Fiona is prepared to defend the coven and will do anything in her power to do so.

American Horror Story: Coven premieres on FX on October 9th at 10:00pm.
