MTV is ordering a double dose of Nicole Byer: the network has greenlit an untitled scripted series starring the actress, as well as a hidden-camera prank show called “Ladylike” that she’ll appear in.
On the scripted show, Byer will play a young adult named Nicole who moves in with her older sister and four kids in the suburbs after leaving her NYC apartment under less-than-ideal circumstances (she starts a fire). As she tries to put the pieces of her life back together, Aunt Nicole bonds with her sister’s kids.
Kimrie Lewis-Davis (“Scandal”) will portray Sarah, the older sister, and Rachel Hilson (“The Good Wife”) will play Emily, the oldest of Sarah’s kids. Byer will serve as a consulting producer on the series.
As for the half-hour “Ladylike,” the show will “challenge social [and gender] norms and unleash uncompromising and ridiculous situations on the unsuspecting public,” according to Deadline,
