“Miss Virginia” has found a home. A press release announced that Vertical Entertainment acquired North American rights to the drama starring “Orange Is the New Black’s” Uzo Aduba.
Inspired by a true story, the drama centers on a “struggling inner-city mother who sacrifices everything to give her son a good education. Unwilling to allow her son to stay in a dangerous school, she launches a movement that could save his future — and that of thousands like him,” the film’s synopsis details.

Best known for her Emmy-winning role as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren in “Orange Is the New Black,” which returns for its seventh and final season on Netflix July 26, Aduba’s other credits include “American Pastoral” and “Tallulah.” She co-stars in “Mrs. America,” an upcoming FX limited series. The drama is based on a true story and sees Cate Blanchett playing playing conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly, who famously opposed the movement to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. “Captain Marvel” helmers Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are directing the first two episodes of “Mrs. America.”
