After making her mark on Litchfield Prison in “Orange is the New Black,” depicting trailblazing politician Shirley Chisholm in “Mrs. America,” and taking on the role of a therapist on “In Treatment,” Uzo Aduba is set to play a lawyer “rising to the top of the corporate ladder” in “All Her Little Secrets,” a one-hour limited series that’s in development at Showtime. Deadline broke the news.
Based on Wanda M. Morris’ bestselling novel, the project follows Ellice Littlejohn (Aduba). “When she gets caught up in an affair and a mysterious conspiracy that puts her at risk of being the primary suspect and the next target, Ellice’s perfect façade starts to crumble as she scrambles to hold onto all she has earned, protect her family, and stay alive. Timely themes of race, class, gender and power are explored in this fast-paced, mystery thriller,” the source hints.
Aduba is among the series’ exec producers.
A three-time Emmy winner, Aduba has taken home honors for “Orange is the New Black” and “Mrs. America.” Her upcoming slate includes “The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat,” Tina Mabry’s drama about three best friends who have spent decades in one another’s corners.
