Vox Media to Launch “Divided States of Women” Series This Month, Liz Plank to Host

Vox Media is offering a platform for women to discuss issues that affect “every woman in America.” The Hollywood Reporter confirms that the company is launching “Divided States of Women,” a 24-episode video series, later this month. Hosted by award-winning journalist Liz Plank, the series “will be streamable both on Vox Media’s owned-and-operated platforms and on Watchable’s online platforms, including Comcast’s Xfinity X1 set-top box,” THR notes.

As its title suggests, “Divided States of Women” won’t shy away from controversial issues. Instead, it’ll “shine a light on the voices that aren’t always heard, and will delve into big political questions that every woman in America has an opinion about,” explained Plank. A podcast — co-hosted by Plank — has already launched as part of the franchise, and a dedicated digital platform will follow, no doubt encouraging viewers to carry on the conversations the series starts.

Topics Plank has covered on Vox include “the bro-code that makes men stick together when they’re accused of sexual harassment,” ways to make girls safer without discriminating against trans kids, and the high turnout of young protesters at this year’s Women’s March. It seems likely that she’ll cover similar subject matter in “Divided States of Women.”
