Watch: Amy Schumer Lives Out Our Fantasies of Forcing Anna Kendrick to Be Her BFF

Promo clips for awards shows usually aren’t especially entertaining — the notable exceptions being Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s Globe previews — but Anna Kendrick and this year’s MTV Movie Awards host Amy Schumer are wonderfully funny and charming in this ad for the upcoming show.

The bit begins with Kendrick asking her agents why she’s being forced to meet the host of the MTV Movie Awards — a name she doesn’t even recognize. Enter a ferociously friendly and personal space-invading Amy Schumer set to make an indelible impression on Kendrick. Mere seconds after meeting, Schumer tells Kendrick they are bound to be friends forever and ever and ever, then proceeds to ask the startled Pitch Perfect actress if she’s related to Kendrick Lamar and/or Annie (“like from Annie?”)

The two riff on everything from body types, why Schumer has been chosen to host this year’s awards, and an X-rated trick involving a ping pong ball. Our admiration for Schumer and her Comedy Network series have been well-documented, and Kendrick’s Twitter account shows that behind the great pipes and onscreen comedic chops, Kendrick herself is one hilarious lady. Hopefully we’ll get to see more of this duo onscreen one day — they have great chemistry.

Tune in to the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, April 12.
