If you see it, you can dream it, and you can become it. So it will come as no surprise when, after “Pitch” premieres on Fox on September 22, more little girls everywhere will want to start playing baseball, and aspire to become pro players when they grow up.
And why shouldn’t they? With more and more baseball experts saying it’s possible that women eventually join major league baseball, it’s the perfect time to get those little girls dreaming.
“Pitch” stars Kylie Bunbury as Ginny Baker, the MLB’s first professional baseball player. Produced in partnership with the MLB (so they must have some idea of the possible realities of this situation), the series’ cast, The Hollywood Reporter details, also includes Ali Larter (“Heroes”), Mark-Paul Gosselaar (“Saved by the Bell”), and Chastity Dotson (“Single Ladies,” “Veronica Mars”).
In anticipation of the new series, Fox rounded up some adorable kids and asked then what they thought of a woman playing baseball. Some of them are doubtful, but once they see footage from the show, their minds are changed. And that’s what’s important. Though the series is fictional, things can’t be achieved unless they are thought possible.
