Watch: Samantha Bee is “Female as F-ck” and Crashing the Sausage Party That is Late-Night TV

Samantha Bee, the longest-serving correspondent ever on “The Daily Show,” took herself out of consideration for the role of Jon Stewart’s replacement to front her own show on TBS. Alongside E!’s Grace Helbig, Bee is one of 2015’s two female late-night hosts. Late night, of course, is dominated by (white) men, a point crudely and hilariously illustrated in a new spot for Bee’s politically themed talk show.

“You know, when I take a look at each piece individually, I like it. Then when I take a step back, I feel like something’s missing,” Bee observes, standing in front of a gallery of late-night hosts — all white men, of course. A server comes by, offering her some meat treats. “I’m kinda done with sausages,” Bee then announces, proudly identifying herself as “female as fuck.”

So it certainly seems that Bee isn’t going to shy away from criticizing the male-dominated field she is a part of. Women have historically been shut out of late-night hosting gigs and largely continue to be today. Bee is thus a very welcome addition to the sausage-filled fold.

Bee co-created the (still!) untitled series with husband Jason Jones. The pair will serve as executive producers on the show, which is set to premiere in Fall 2015.
