Make sure to watch The Invisible War airing on PBS tonight at 10pm. It’s an extremely important film that examines the rape epidemic within the U.S. military. With the increase in the sexual assault numbers and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s upcoming introduction of legislation that would give military prosecutors the power to decide which cases to try, the film’s discussion is crucial.
Executive Producer, Regina K. Scully (who is also the founding sponsor of The Athena Film Festival) was recently on CBS News talking about the documentary and it’s importance in light of the arrest of an Air Force officer who lead a sexual assault prevention unit for sexual assault.
Check out Scully’s segment below. Again, The Invisible War airs tonight on PBS. Watch the trailer and check out the Independent Lens Facebook page for more information.
