Industry professionals, this is for you: WeForShe is accepting nominations for its fifth annual WriteHer List, a curation of the best women-written, women-driven pilot scripts out there. The nomination period is open through December 7, 2018.
With the goal of boosting the number of employed women storytellers in the industry, the WriteHer List helps strengthen selectees’ “marketability both as series creators and staff writers.” Previous selectees have gone on to work as TV staff writers, signed overall deals, been hired to develop projects, and secured new representation.
Only industry professionals can submit nominations. Nominees can be from any background or at any phase in their career. Any genre of script is eligible as long as it is co-written by a least one woman and features compelling female characters. Multiple nominations can be made by one person as well.
Lakshmi Sundaram (“Pushed”), Laura Whang (“Dragon State”), and Eboni Freeman (“Lovely Woman”) were among those who made the 2018 WriteHer List.
You can submit your nomination by sending the script, writer’s name, and writer’s contact information or representation to writeherlist@gmail.com. Go to WeForShe’s website for more information.
