Comedian Whitney Cummings is going to be stepping behind the camera and making her directorial debut with the relationship comedy “The Female Brain.”
Based on the book by Louann Brizendine, the film script was adapted by Cummings and Neal Brennan. It sounds rather abstract, according to Variety, telling the story of “couples who demonstrate the workings of primal neurology in their romantic relationships.”
“‘The Female Brain’ is a book that profoundly changed my life,” Cummings said, “and I’m really proud of how Neal Brennan and I wrote the script in a way that addresses how both men and women are often challenged and undermined by their reptilian brains and primordial fears.”
Cummings created and starred in the NBC sitcom “Whitney,” and is the co-creator of the CBS sitcom “2 Broke Girls.” Most recently, she had her own HBO comedy special “Whitney Cummings: I’m Your Girlfriend.” She’s now shooting Denise Di Novi’s “Unforgettable.”
