Women and Hollywood is Going to London

nullGreat News.  We’re taking the show on the road again.  This time to London.  It’s been a very busy spring and we are so excited to kick the summer off with a trip to London to talk about In Her Voice: Women Directors Talk Directing.

Women in Film and TV UK and the Bird’s Eye View Film Festival are hosting an event with women directors on Tuesday, 2 July from 6.30pm – 8.00pm in The Blue Room at the BFI Southbank, London, SE1 8XT.

The directors from the book who will be joining the discussion include Shamim Sarif, Beadie Finzi and Susanna White. (We hope to include one or two more.) The discussion will explore and celebrate the work of women directors and their growing integral position in the world of filmmaking and will be followed by networking drinks. We are so lucky to have such a great group of women to share their wisdom with us.

All the details are here.

I’ve been told the tickets are going fast, so please sign up.  I’d love to see as many of you who are London based at the event.

On another note, I’d love to do a pub evening — where people can meet up an network and chat while I am in town.  I am thinking of July 4.  Would anyone be interested in that?  We need a place that’s centrally located.  I’d love for someone to help me organize it since I don’t know much about the city.

I am so excited to see the vibrant community in London and to learn from you all.  Contact me by email melissa@womenandhollywood.com or twitter @melsil  if you want to set up meetings.
