Young Women in STEM Can Win Internship at Marvel Studios

Female Avengers, assemble!

Disney, Marvel Studios, Dolby Laboratories, Synchrony Bank, Broadcom MASTERS and Science & Entertainment Exchange, a program of The National Academy of Sciences, are teaming together to offer one exceptional young woman a chance at a one-week internship at Marvel Studios.

The contest is called “Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War — Girls Reforming the Future” and is in conjunction with the May 6 release of “Captain America: Civil War,” starring such heroines as, Scarlett Johansson, Elizabeth Olsen (“Godzilla”) and Emily VanCamp (“Revenge”).

The program seeks to inspire girls to create positive world change through science and technology. The challenge invites girls nationwide, ages 15–18, in grades 10–12, to submit STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)-based projects that have the potential to change the world.

Each applicant will be asked to submit a short video demonstrating her project and explaining how it could make the world a better place. Five finalists will be selected to head to California and present their projects to a panel of experts. One grand prize winner will be selected from the five finalists to receive an internship with Marvel Studios.

For more details, and to apply, visit the “Captain America: Civil War — Girls Reforming the Future Challenge” website. The online application is due March 26.
