Apple is welcoming one of our favorite multi-hyphenates into its folds. “Catastrophe” co-creator, star, writer, and exec producer Sharon Horgan has signed an exclusive first-look deal with the company, Variety confirms. The “Divorce” creator previously had a pact with Amazon.
“Game Night,” “Military Wives,” and “How to Build a Girl” are among Horgan’s recent on-screen roles. “Catastrophe” concluded its fourth and final season earlier this year. Horgan received an Emmy nod for her writing on the comedy. Besides “Catastrophe” and “Divorce,” her many exec producing credits include “This Way Up” and “Frayed.”
Horgan’s production company with Clelia Mountford, Merman, “recently inked a development deal with Sky’s new content unit, Sky Studios. That agreement sits outside of the Apple first-look deal,” the source details. Horgan’s BBC/Sundance Now comedy “Motherland” is one of Merman’s shows.
Earlier this year Horgan directed an episode of Amazon anthology “Modern Love.” She is set to make her feature directorial debut with “The New World” for Focus Features. The pic centers on a couple separated by death.
Horgan also has an HBO Max comedy on the way, “Delilah.” The comedy sees “Happy Death Day” star Jessica Rothe playing a woman caught in the midst of some serious personal and familial drama.
