Diane Lockhart, Lucca Quinn, Maia Rindell, and Liz Reddick-Lawrence will keep up “The Good Fight” for at least another season. Per Variety, CBS All Access has renewed the “Good Wife” spinoff for a fourth outing. The legal drama follows Diane (Christine Baranski) who — after losing her savings in a Ponzi scheme on the eve of her retirement — starts over at predominantly black Chicago law firm. Since its 2017 debut, the series has dealt explicitly with race, feminism, and politics, particularly the Trump administration.
“The Good Wife’s” Michelle King and Robert King created “The Good Fight” with Phil Alden Robinson. The duo also run the series and executive produce.
Dubbing the show as “a flagship original series” for CBS All Access, the streamer’s exec VP of original content, Julie McNamara, said, “Its visionary creators Robert and Michelle King and the extraordinary cast continue to explore the cultural climate with insight, humor, and courage, and we can’t wait to see where these indelible characters go next.”
Currently in its third season, new episodes of “The Good Fight” drop Thursdays. Season 3 has seen Diane trying to maintain her sense of self as the White House gets more insane by the day. Meanwhile, Adrian Boseman (Delroy Lindo) and Liz (Audra McDonald) attempt to adapt to a world where facts matter less than storytelling in the courtroom; Lucca juggles parenthood with a new romance and a new client; and Maia (Rose Leslie) is forced to partner with Roland Blum (Michael Sheen), a character inspired by “the Roy Cohns and Roger Stones of the world.”
“The Good Fight” recently won the Ensemble Cast prize at the Gracie Awards. The show also has two Emmy nominations and a Television Critics Association Award nod to its name.
