Trailer Watch: Phoebe Waller-Bridge Goes to Therapy in Season 2 of “Fleabag”

"Fleabag"

“Fleabag’s” long-awaited return is nearly here. A trailer has arrived for the dark comedy’s second season, and it sees creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge on the verge of a spiritual and emotional awakening that’s threatened by her horniness.

“You know that feeling when the hot misogynist is turning up at your house for the second time in 48 hours just to do something to get your head out of the fact that the only person you want to see in the world is the priest that you –” Fleabag (Waller-Bridge) asks before trailing off. Yes, Fleabag is lusting after a member of the clergy, but she’s not planning to sleep with him — a conundrum she’ll have to deal with in therapy.

As per her father’s (Bill Paterson) suggestion, Fleabag is talking to a professional about how she uses sex to “deflect from the screaming void” in her heart.

Waller-Bridge also created “Killing Eve.” The hit BBC America spy thriller returns for a second season April 7. She has another series in development at HBO, “Run.” Merritt Wever (“Godless”) stars as a family woman underwhelmed by her humdrum existence. The opportunity to start anew presents itself when a former lover contacts her in the hopes that she’ll make good on an old promise.

Season 2 of “Fleabag” premieres on BBC Three March 4 and hits Amazon Prime May 17. Olivia Colman and Sian Clifford co-star.
